My name is Rory Conlin and I work on physics and math and engineering and stuff, mostly in the realm of plasma physics and nuclear fusion.

I'm currently a post-doctoral researcher in the Stellarator Theory department at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Greifswald, Germany. Previously I was a postdoc with the stellarator group at University of Maryland and completed my PhD at Princeton in the Plasma Control Group

My research is a combination of plasma physics, optimization, numerical methods and machine learning. I'm one of the main authors of the DESC code for stellarator optimization, and yancc for neoclassical transport, as well as a number of packages in the JAX ecosystem including

• interpax for interpolation
• quadax for numerical quadrature
• orthax for working with orthogonal polynomials
